After two weeks of hot and humid weather, the weekend of August 13 featured spectacular August weather for the 2022 Bentley Family Reunion – low humidity, highs about 80 degrees, sunny, and clear. Ray Bentley generously hosted at his house in Elverson, PA, with somewhere around 70 grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren of Emma and Harold Bentley. Emma and Harold have long since passed away, and unfortunately their only living child, Millicent Lawrence (age 95), was not well enough to attend. However, all 15 grandchildren were present (ages ranging from 72 to about 55) along with 10 of their spouses. There were about 23 great-grandchildren, 10 of their spouses or significant others, and about a dozen great-great grandchildren. This was the first large reunion since somewhere around 2007. In late-breaking news, another great-great grandson emerged at 7:30am on Sunday, August 14, the last day of the reunion! Congratulations to parents Will and Hannah Bentley.
Ray has a perfect place to hold a reunion, and he went all out to make it memorable. He had a large dining tent, a luxury restroom trailer, spectacular food and beverages, and an array of activities for young and old.
